About Lacie
I teach Music Development from ages 18 months to 7 yrs and piano and voice starting as young as 6 yrs. I instill a love for music and learning through ear training, rhythms, social skills, musical thought, dancing, singing, chanting, cultural exploration, and age appropriate instruments. From beginners to advanced students, I teach them all!
Valentine's won Best School two years in a row (2018-2019) in Los Banos, California and I'm excited to continue our record of excellence here in the Salt Lake area!

I've been teaching since I was 12 years old (obviously, not very well-trained back then) In college, I took Piano Pedagogy and realized I had found my calling. I love teaching, especially to kids, they make life fun!
I'm a BYU-I graduate, a pianist for 19 years, and an "official" teacher for the past 6 years.
I've also worked extensively with the Jr High and High Schools of Los Banos, CA, directing musicals, assisting in choir, and traveling on tour as an accompanist.

As the oldest of 8 and a teacher, I've spent my whole life learning how to make a new student feel at ease, appreciated, and loved. I'm a bit of a goofball with the kids which makes them relaxed and willing to learn.
Depending on the student's age, we begin with either Movement and Music games, or jump right on in to learning to read rhythms.
I've worked from babies to grandparents, shy, outgoing, vocally inclined to monotonely inclined, talented but lazy, not naturally inclined but works hard, pretty much everything.
Definitely find someone who focuses more on the student than the curriculum. Each child is different, and kids can only learn so much at various stages of their development, so they need to know what to teach and when.
I recently moved from California, and to end my time with my students, we had our last recital. Over 80 talented kids, lots of hugs and loves, and me just being so proud of them one last time. That recital was really a sweet treasure.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Potential students should definitely look into the background of these teachers, whether or not they know what they're doing or they're someone just trying to make a little side money; it's always worth it to go with the whole package rather than settle on a cheap price.

I few years ago my daughter told me she wanted to learn how to play the piano. I started to look into piano lessons and came across Valentines music school. It didn’t take very long for my daughter to fall in love with piano. Lacey is such a amazing teacher. She is so patient and great with kids. I can’t express enough how great she is. So if your child wants to learn how to play the piano or sing she is definitely the person to go to. You won’t be disappointed!
The teacher of course! I can’t say enough great things about Valentine’s Music School - my 7 year old daughter, who started when she was 6, and I both took lessons and were so happy with our experience. Lacie is great with kids and I would highly recommend her to anyone pursuing piano lessons!! We miss her soooo much!
My adult daughter took a few lessons to refresh her 🎹 knowledge:-) Very patient and kind.

Details
The Movement and Music classes are in 15 week sessions. For babies and toddlers, it's $250 all inclusive. The Movement and Music classes ages 3-7 are $300 all inclusive.
For Piano and Voice, tuition is $900 for the year, broken up into monthly payments of $75. I do not charge by the lesson, but work on contracts.
