About Geoffrey

Geoffrey Johnson has played both oboe & English horn with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for the past decade and teaches oboe students across the Detroit Metro. In addition to DSO, he has performed with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa, Canada), Pittsburgh Symphony, Honolulu Symphony, Detroit Chamber Winds, and Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra

High school students winning chairs in Michigan All-State Orchestra MMEA (2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2009)

Winning chairs in Texas All-State Orchestra (TMEA)

Winning Royal Oak Concerto Competition (2015, 2014, 2012)

Winning Birmingham Concerto Competition

Selected for Michigan Youth Arts Festival & Michigan Honors Band

Acceptance into Interlochen Academy for the Art
