About Belinda

I hope to bring enjoyment into all of my lessons, and truly take into consideration the needs of the student. I like to alter my approaches for each individual depending on their goals and I try to be as accomodating as possible while still ensuring professionalism and preparedness.

I love teaching oboe to the budding musicians of our generation!

I began teaching while in my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. I took some music education classes to learn about teaching and I fell in love with it!

I am earning a Performance Studies Diploma with Eugene Izotov at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Prior to moving to the Bay Area, I earned a MM from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and a BM from the University of Michigan.

About the lesson

I prefer to ask the student their goals upfront so we are on the same page from the start. I teach to the individual rather than following a specific template. I find that it helps promote excitedness and interest in the student if I alter how I approach lessons in a way to be sure it suits them!

I have most experience teaching middle school and high school students.

This year I had my first experience teaching online. I inspired a music student across the country to pursue oboe into a major of music instead of just a hobby!
