About Thomas

I have owned and operated my own art studio located on a seperate building on our property in Glenshaw, Pa for over 20 years. My main focus on 'teaching' art, painting, etc is to help students discover, enhance, enrich and develop their own personal creativity. By not overemphasizing 'techniques and standards' I want the artist to search inside themselves and give themselves permission to create from within themselves, what is unique to each individual.

I have been an artist all of my life, at least as far back as I can remember. Drawing at an early age was instinctive to me, and I did it all the time. Then I discovered paint. And through self motivation and allowing myself to not be constrained by technique, I discovered and developed a way of painting I have not seen anywhere else. It is what truthfully comes from my individual creative process, and that is what makes me tick.

I believe that teaching art is an extension of being an artist who inspires other artists to strive and search for their own individual assets.

I have a BS from LaRoche College. I have taught individual and small classes in design and art. I am primarily a self-taught painter who has developed over the past 30 years years my individual method of applying paint and creating work which stimulates and challenges the viewer's mind.

About the lesson

Informal discussion concerning the wants, needs, objectives and goals the student wants to consider. After assessing these we can move along at the pace a student desires and will be dictated by the students progress and satisfactions with his or her art.

Beginners, intermediates, and those willling to learn how to expand their creative potential.

Define your own personal goals and what you hope to achieve as an artist. Then try to find an instructor who fits your needs: If you want to learn technique at paintings trees, find a class that focuses on beginners technque. If you want to enahnce your current skills and develop your own creative endeavors find someone who will focus on creativity and self discovery, etc. Simpl, find someone who has your particular objectives in mind, and won't dictate how this or that should be done.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Examine their own persoanl objectives and goals as to what they would like to achieve while learning the art of self examination, discovery and the true creative being that lies within.
