About Tera

I am a very enthusiastic and encouraging teacher. I am currently an elementary art teacher and enjoy working at my students and customers pace. I work with acrylics and have a business hosting painting parties for private businesses and customers on location.

I love seeing my students reactions when they accomplish a new skill or have an A-HA moment. Making students feel good about their work and building their confidence makes my job all worth it and completely enjoyable!

I have been teaching in the public school system for 20 years. I have always had a love of art and pursued it during my teaching career.

I have been an art teacher at a local elementary school for the past 6 years.

I have my own paint party business where I host customers of all ages at their preferred location. We paint with acrylics on canvas and the subject manner is customed to meet the customers theme or preference.

I previously worked at a paint and sip studio called Painting with a Twist for four years. I was one of the first artists to help open and teach at the location where I worked.

About the lesson

I meet my students at their level. I start with basic shapes, colors and techniques. I move at my student's pace and choose themes that are motivating and of high interest to my student.

I have worked with all ages of students from ages 3-90.

Student skill levels vary from just learning to hold a brush, to skills such as blending and capturing light.

I am very patient and work with students of all ages and skill level.

In addition to my art experience, I also have a masters degree in special education. I work exceptionally well with using art as therapy and working through each individual's struggles.

I have recently taught a party for a bride to be. She picked tulips as her theme. The party had children and adults, beginners to actual art school students. All involved had an excellent time and the bride was very happy with her special event.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

$30 per hour for virtual or at my apartment

$40 per hour for lessons at your location

(up to 30 miles travel distance round trip)

*Additional IRS mileage rates apply for locations over 30 miles
