About Derk
I am a self taught painter, painting professionally since 1972. My life experiences allowed me to paint over a very broad spectrum from landscapes to wildlife, seascapes, western and still life’s. My work has been published world wide and I am proud to share my gained knowledge with all of my students.
Learn to paint boldly. Gain a better understanding of color and color harmony, composition and procedure. I’ll take the mystery out of it and make it easy to understand. You will learn the power of a limited palette, understand light and shade, and construct your paintings simply and strong from the start. My goal is to teach you to see color and put it down with confidence. Your enjoyment at the easel will be smoother, with better results.
