About Nathan

Artists come in many shapes and colors. We don't all see the world in the same way . . . and that's what makes us so awesome!

I began my career as sports photographer and writer for a daily newspaper, migrating to school portraiture and weddings over the years. And I have great experience with landscapes!

The techniques used in one style of photography apply to other styles of photography.

With more than 4 decades of photography behind me, I love to show fellow artists how to use their cameras as amazing tools to create the art they envision.

I love working with people to capture their personalities. And I'm excited and challenged to show the love families have for each other in their portraits. Landscapes and commercial photographs show others the world around us, and I look for interesting and unique ways to create that artwork.

I was lead photographer for a 10-person team at school studio in Long Island, NY, and responsible for teaching and training our new staff members.

42 years as a working professional, with experience working for a newspaper, and photographing hundreds of weddings and tens of thousands of portraits.

About the lesson

We first chat about the student's current level of expertise. Then we discuss the student's desired goal for the classes. Finally, we set a curriculum specific to the student to help them achieve their goal successfully.

High school students and adults. I teach to the student's knowledge level - from beginners to well-experienced students.

Look for a teacher with experience in various types of photography, and with experience working with studio lighting.

I love photographing weddings, families, and school portraits. We always have lots of fun with the pre-k students at our schools!
