About Katie
My interest in photography started when I was about 13 when I started to play with my parents old 35mm Pentax K1000. Years later I decided to major in photography in college, graduating with a B.S. of Commercial Photography in May of 2012. The past 5 years I'm been shooting professionally as a wedding photographer and in my spare time photographing landscapes, my dog, and the small towns around where I live.
I can help students learn Photoshop, Lightroom, how to use all manual settings on the camera, as well as help students gain an understanding of composition and lighting.

About 2 years ago my cousin decided she wanted to become a photographer, and I ended up helping her quite a bit and along the way realized how much I enjoyed sharing my love of photography with others.
Being in such a competitive field of work I also realized early how crucial it is to help each other out.
I have a B.S. for Commercial Photography from Appalachian State Universtiy. As well as 5 years as a professional, freelance photographer.

Perfect! Lessons given in the real world. At differing locations. At my own pace. With email info sheets. What could be better?
Perfect! I think Katie is a great teacher. She gears the lesson to the student,which is such a pleasure. I am really a newbie at digital photography and am happy be getting off of auto setting. I would advise others to do so as well. Well worth the money!
