About Todd

As a 20+ year veteran in visual effects and animation for feature films, I try conduct my business as though each client is our only client, making sure your needs and expectations are met. I have worked for/with many film and visual effects studios including Disney, Fox, Marvel, Sony, Paramount, Warner Brothers, and more. More recently I have been working within the marketing and advertising industries with product/advert giants such as Activision/Blizzard Media, Adidas, Verizon, and Volkswagon.

I have worked professionally with both physical and virtual/cg cameras, as well as compositing, editing, painting, and retouching in Photoshop, for most of my career. I believe I can help people gain a foundation in photography and can teach various Photoshop skills and techniques that will help refine your images and create powerful pieces.

As a side note, from 2006-2010 I taught as a college instructor while simultaneously working on studio projects including the Oscar winning film Tim Burton's: Alice in Wonderland (2010). After which I had an opportunity to come to Florida to work at the new animation studio in Port Saint Lucie, FL. Although I left the state for several years, my family and I decided to move back and plant some roots. Now based on the Treasure Coast, I run my own small studio which handles several types of photography and imaging services, video production, virtual tours, virtual reality and more. My hope is to share some of my knowledge with people who are looking to learn a new hobby and/or expand on their skill sets.

I enjoy meeting new people and helping them improve and grow their skills, whether for hobby or profession.

The studio I worked for at the time had a break in the project I was on, so in the meantime I took the opportunity to use my newly honed skills and confidence as a team lead and become an instructor teaching courses in History of Gaming, Cg Modeling & Animation, as well as teaching Capstone classes to help prepare students for getting industry work based on their various skill sets.

In 2004 I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts & Animation from The Art Institute of California - Santa Monica.

I have 4yrs experience teaching college level courses within an Animation & Game Design curriculum.

I have over 20yrs experience working in visual effects on feature films. I specialize in stereoscopic 3D visual effects, imagery, and playback systems. This work included working with cameras and manipulating imagery. Much of my earlier movie work was done by digitally painting missing areas or patches created by our 2D>3D conversion process. Before moving to software better suited for clips/shots or 'image sequences', we painstakingly did this work frame by frame Photoshop and had to make it look seamless in motion during playback.

About the lesson

Email introduction and questionnaire to get some initial information.

Phone call to further understand the individual students needs and ensure there is a good fit between instructor and student.

Student books time confirming interest, followed by proposal pertaining to goals/objectives, timeline, associated fees or fee options that the student can accept.

Student will be invoiced prior to instruction or classes beginning.

Every type. Every age 18-50+
Various skill levels. Various knowledge base.

Most important is a passion for learning and a drive to practice and improve. Never stop learning is my motto.
