About Lindsey

I have 18 years of experience teaching at a school and traveling to student's homes. I have been teaching via FaceTime and Zoom since the covid pandemic began and it's been going wonderfully. I love my students. I am willing to travel to you within a certain distance. I live in Ann Arbor.

I really enjoy seeing my students progress over the years. I feel so happy for them when they ask to learn a song and then they can play it for their friends and family. Holidays are a special time to share music with loved ones and my current students have enjoyed learning Christmas music in preparation for the coming season.

I started working at a montessori school and they asked if I wanted to teach a summer piano course and from there it continued to throughout the school year. As people left the school they asked if I would come to their home. Many friends and family members of my current students also referred me.

I took piano and clarinet lessons for 12 years and taught at a school for 15 years teaching music to preschool through elementary and piano lessons after school. . I had traveled to peoples homes for 13 years and for the past year and a half I have been teaching via zoom and FaceTime. I currently have 26 students and I am excited to introduce more to the wonderful world of music.

About the lesson

I use the Faber book series. We begin with the parent ordering their first book on Amazon and then through the book as a guide, I teach them proper hand position, how to navigate the keys and we being learning about notes and rhythm. My students learn finger numbers and counting and we progress into note reading quickly.

I have worked from 4 years old all the way to 18. I have worked with children that are beginners and some that have had other teachers before.
