About Mendel

I have been playing piano for 20 years, music runs in my family.

I am not stuck on any particular teaching methodology.

My approach is like being a scientist in a lab, where you and your piano are the experiments. You observe your progress, take what is useful and discard what isn’t. This is the approach that I take to teaching. Everybody learns differently, has their own way of understanding and faces different challenges. My role is to find the best and easiest way to help my students understand and learn the piano.

I will help you grow and have fun on your musical journey. Learning anything can be hard, there is a lot of information out there but sometimes you don’t even know the right questions to ask. I can help whether you are just starting out or more advanced. Whether you want to learn classical music or pop songs, learn to read sheet music or just pick up songs by ear; whether you want to focus on the playing or understand how it all works via music theory, I can help.

About the lesson

Piano lessons offered by Mendel are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Brooklyn. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
