About Janet

During my 30+ years of teaching, I have had the privilege to guide and motivate eager students of all ages through their journey of music discovery, including those with special needs.

I take the time with an interested student to customize their course of study to their needs and goals.

I provide the means by which an eager student, at any age, can have fun and enjoy learning.

Savoring all the world of music has to offer...

My mission is to provide the means by which music can be enjoyed. One may explore the world of music according to his/her abilitiy, talent and goals.

I have the best job: introducing the gift of music to others.

About the lesson

I begin with a "get-to-know-you" meeting with the student. Personality is important! It is crucial that the student feels comfortable with me.

After assessing the student's basic level of music knowledge, I will recommend appropriate method book(s) for digging right in!

Piano Music instruction for any age will address skills including, but not limited to, finger strength/dexterity development, listening (ear training), singing (in relation to hearing), music theory (how music works), and sampling several styles of playing the instrument.
