About Daniel

In my 20 years of teaching I know the best motivation for learning is interest. Every student has different circumstances, motivations and musical goals. Thats why I am sensitive and thoughtful about what a student needs to be inspired and encouraged.

I enjoy working with students that are looking for a way to be creative and explore music. Its not always easy and can fearful to improvise and create original music ideas but I enjoy being a guide on a students creative path.

I began teaching when I was in Graduate school at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

I have a Masters in Music from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and I have been teaching piano lessons for over 20 years.

About the lesson

My typical process when working with a new student is to spend time finiding out what they want to learn and what they already know.

I work with all students of any age and background that are interested in being creative with their music.

Spend time with the teacher telling them what you find fascinating about music. Don’t be afriad to tell them what you’re interested in--Like what type of music you listen to what you want to learn or even if you dont know tell them you’re exploring music.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
the question a student should think about before talking to a teacher is: will this teacher allow me to be me? Will this teacher encourage me to work hard at the music I want to make?
