About Leo

I offer custom tailored curriculums to fit every individual student based on their experience, ability level, and long term goals.

I greatly enjoy both playing and teaching music. The joy that students get when they excel or improve their instrument over time is extremely rewarding.

My first private saxophone instructor recruited me to help him cover make-up or rescheduled lessons, and I enjoyed it so much I asked him to help take on my own students.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying saxophone performance and music education. I have additional training in clarinet, bassoon, and piano. I have four years of experience teaching in both large group and one-on-one settings.

About the lesson

I begin every interaction with a new student by discussing their background and long term goals with them and, when applicable, a parent or guardian. This way, we can shape a curriculum for the student and create a path for them.

I have worked with students of all ages, and a variety of ability levels.

I would recommend a student find the teacher that will best help them achieve their specific goals. For example, seeking help from a jazz saxophonist on how to prepare for an audition for a classical saxophone college program may not work out well, and vice versa. A student must also find a teacher they get along well with, as the best results will come when the teacher and the student can develop a good relationship and communicate well.
