EnjoyableNoise Piano and Voice lessons is located in Carbon Valley, in Countryside Neighborhood, directly across from Frederick High School, Colorado

Offerings beyond the 30 minute private lesson include a Music Lab with 2 iPads and a Digital MIDI capable keyboard where students spend 15-30 minutes on activities that are both fun and educational for both voice and piano students. This boosts the learning of all students here at EnjoyableNoise by doubling learning time at their piano &/or voice lesson.

Parents who enroll their students at EnjoyableNoise value the lifelong gift of music making that is achieved here, but also the fact that music is a brain building activity that boosts students in other academic areas.

It’s like you get 3 for 1 when students enroll in piano lessons. They get the enjoyment of a lifelong gift of playing piano PLUS they are boosting their brain development at the same time, PLUS many life lessons can be learned here with Ms. Karen who coaches students the value of self expression, discipline, and making it fun while in the process.

Karen believes that music and academics go hand in hand, and the earlier a child starts, the better. She offers piano lessons to students who are 4 and beyond, and specializes in using technology to maximize the student’s efforts. She arms her students with opportunities for instant feedback between lessons using Piano Marvel (for ages 6+) for the fraction of the cost of a personal tutor. This tool gives students a chance to correct their mistakes instantly rather than waiting a week with either no practicing, or practicing the mistakes over and over again.

I enjoy meeting with every student I teach. Connection with each and every one of them on a personal level where they eventually connect what they learn in music to other areas of their lives gives meaning to the work I do year in and year out.

I love to inspire and teach them about the subject I love, MUSIC, seeing their progress, sharing in the JOY of achievment throughout the year with recitals, hearing about what else they are enjoying, and then seeing this progress year after year.

Making music together such as playing a duet, or accompanying a voice student where we really feel the music is also a huge highlight to me.

I started by teaching in the Edina and Chaska School Districts in Minneaplis, MN are back in the mid 90s and started teaching a few students as I was requested by parents at the time.

I fell in love with this type of teaching, and quickly turned all of my attention to my private studio teaching one on one.

About the lesson

1. Phone call or messaging occurs between the parent and I.

2. We meet for an intial exploratory lesson where I discover what a student's (and parents) core desires are for music lessons. We explore a few different types of learning in my studio and Music Lab.

3. I discuss the tutition and studio policies either at the exploratory lesson, or a phone conversation on this topic is scheduled.

I've worked with sutdents as young as 3 years old on up to ~80 years old.

Preschoolers are one of my favorite age groups to work with. I have had plenty of students start with me at that age, and then continue through their Senior year of high school. This is such a joy.

I work with homeschool families, and make a point to work with them with the understanding behind why they choose homeschooling.

I teach a lot of middle school and high school students who have specific types of music or song choices they are motivated to practice.

I've worked with special needs students, including autistic children.

Make sure you feel like the teacher connects to you, and what's important to you. Is the teacher happy to see you? Does the teacher make a point to get to know you?

The Christmas Challenge hosted by Piano Marvel is actually not so much of an event, but a whole month where everyone who has a Piano Marvel account is challenged to play and complete as many Christmas Songs as they can through the month of December.

This gets students playing abiblity stronger even if they are playing songs that find are easy to pass.

Details

Lessons are 60 minutes (30 minute private lesson + 30 minute Music Lab time where music concepts are learned). An even monthly tuition structure is made up of 41 lessons through a year (Sept-August) which includes lessons in the summer. Ms. Karen makes scheduling the summer sessions super flexible.
