I love music! I love teaching! In addition to teaching fundamental pianistic skills, my goal is to encourage and foster creativity, enthusiasm, and a love for music. I desire to teach in such a way that my students can catch a glimmer of the beauty music can bring into their lives. When looking back on their pianistic journey I hope to hear the student say they felt optimistic about their future, confident in themselves, and grateful for the many life lessons learned at the piano.

I received my bachelors of Music in Keyboard Pedagogy at Weber State University. I have received such honors in the piano program as “Most Improved” and the piano jury honor roll. I have also received full tuition accompanying scholarships, accompaning instrumentalists and vocalists in various recitals, master classes and competition auditions. In 2016 I was privileged to accompany Grammy Award winning hornist Marian Hess.

My performing experience includes concerts in the world renowned Ghione Theater in Rome, Italy and esteemed concert halls in France, Switzerland, Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia. I have also performed with the Nachtmusik Chamber Orchestra of Orem in Mozart’s piano concerto no. 23 in A Major. In 2012 I performed the third movement of Grieg’s piano concerto with the American West Symphony under the direction of Joel Rosenberg. Other performing opportunities include playing in the conference center, and playing for the graduation convocation for Weber State’s BIS graduates.

My musical training includes studying from Dr. David Glen Hatch, Dr. Gary Amano, head piano professor at Utah State, Cassandra Broadhead of Sandy, and Dr. Ralph Van der Beek of Weber State University. I have participated in master classes with Adam Nielson and the Coombs family from the Julliard School of Music, as well as Fan-Ya Lin, alumni of Weber State and Julliard.

I started teaching when I was 16. I have taught both private and group lessons ages 6 to 17. during my internship at the Piano Prep Program at Weber State, my student won award in the mini artist division at the WSU Piano Festival.
