About Sara

Hi! My name is Sara Ho, and I am a recent high school graduate with over 11+ years of piano experience. I am classically-trained, as I have been most recently taught at the New England Conservatory Prep School in Boston for the past couple of years. In addition, I have had experience teaching and performing for people of all ages, as I have taught seniors at the local assisted living home.

I recently decided to teach piano to people of all ages, particularly those who are just starting to learn the piano, because of the joy that music brings. Not everyone has the chance to learn and truly appreciate music, and I want to bring that passion into teaching. I would love to make long-lasting connections with whoever I teach and hopefully help them learn the practicability and beauty of music.

Qualification:

DipABRSM diploma in Music Performance, 2018

I appreciate how complex music can be, especially the structure. There is no thing in the world like music, one that unites people together. I love the feeling and exhilaration that music gives me, and I want others around me to appreciate that feeling too.

In 2018, I obtained the DipABRSM diploma in Music Performance.

About the lesson

I will typically ask any of my potential students a series of questions about pitch, notes on the piano, etc. just to test their musicality. From there, I will diagnose what he/she will need to work on, and then I will build our lessons off of that. It all depends on the level he/she is on, and how quickly/enthusiastic they are willing to learn.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
You should be able to consider what your short and long-term goals of playing the piano are, and to gauge your ability. At a minimum, you should at least be self-aware of what you need to work on. What you need to work on I will help you succeed! Please don't be nervous to talk to me about any underlying issues-- I will work them out with you!
