About Maura

I am passionate to have all of my students find Their Voice and joy in their own excellence. I have been teaching voice and music from ages 8 to 65 since 1991. My first school, Mo-Co School of Music, began in the year 2000 and was re-branded in 2014 to Torch Light Music School to train socially conscious artists to find and raise their voice. Our Torch Light Music School and the enclosed Torch Light Tiny Theater are fully equipped with state of the art gear, full PA, microphones, pro lighting and recording for students to reach their highest potential from self-esteem building to becoming a professional musician. I am a scholarship recipient from Boston University with a degree in Voice Performance as well as post-grad work at Berklee College of Music as well as the Longy School of Music and I have performed at Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and Basilica di San Giogio to list a few. I so enjoy watching my students grow in their confidence, their joy for music and finding a passion for their own excellence. When they discover this in themselves, I've seen that enrich many areas of their whole life and happiness today and going forward!

About the lesson

I very much enjoy allowing a student to bring songs they like to sing as well as assigned songs. This creates a wonderful artistic partnership while giving students experience in song selection techniques that aid them in and out of the studio.
