About Megan

I offer affordable, flexible lessons paced at the student/family’s interest and comfort level. Students play games and write essays to earn extra songs they want to play. We have two recitals per year!

Music has always been an huge part of my life, and I love knowing that I am helping pass this important skill on to future generations.

My first student was for a friend's child, and my business quickly expanded through word of mouth and great references!

I have played piano for almost 20 years and have been teaching in the Madison area for 3 years. I have always been involved in musical groups and play other instruments, too.

About the lesson

I offer a free trial lesson to get to know the student and their current skill level. My lessons are really driven by the student's desire for them; if they are looking to casually learn how to play a few songs, I will support them. If they are driven to practice hard and quickly progress, I will also support that.

My students range in age from 5-12. I have started all my students as beginning students with no prior piano experience. I am able to accommodate students who do not read and have worked with students/families for whom English is a second language.

It is important to feel a conneciton to your piano teacher! It makes lessons more fun and practicing more motivating if you really like your teacher. That is why I offer a free trial lesson: so that students and families can check the fit before committing to piano lessons.

Last fall, my students participated in a Monster Concert, where they performed spooky songs in costumes for an hour in Barnes and Noble while people shopped for books.

Details

My 30-minute lessons are $20 each. Families pay at their last lesson at the end of each month. Students are allowed to cancel one lesson per month with at least 24 hours notice and not be charged. For cancellations beyond that, families will be charged.
