About Isabel

I am new to this website, but you can view reviews on my takelessons profile: (concealed information) website/profile/isabel-k#reviews

Hi! I am an NYC-based pianist and teacher with over 10+ years of teaching and performance experience in the US, Europe and Asia. I offer online and in-person lessons to students of all ages and backgrounds, including young children and adults from beginner to advanced levels. Are you interested in starting piano lessons? Contact me to set up a trial lesson today! About me: I recently graduated from Mannes College of Music in NYC with a MM in Piano Performance. I was awarded the Mannes Teaching Fellowship, and currently enjoy sharing my love of music with my 30 students in NYC. For more about myself and my teaching philosophy, visit: isabelkeleti.com

A part of my job which I love is the opportunity to meet interesting people from different backgrounds, and I look forward to teaching any student who is enthusiastic about learning the piano. Teaching my students augments my own undertsanding of music in many ways and I love helping my students find a greater understanding and appreciation of classical music in return. One of my most enjoyable teaching experiences was being a founding teacher for a program called Pianos Without Borders, which provides remote, online piano lessons to middle-school age students in need. I'm also very proud of my young students who have gone on to win national and international competitions.

I have always loved teaching and began helping young students when I was a teenager. I've found teaching has augmented my own music studies over the years, and I've been fortunate to have worked with many great teachers who have inspired me to offer everything I've learned to others.

About the lesson

I typically require students to schedule a trial lesson, conducted just as a regular lesson. This gives the student a chance to see what my lessons are like, and allows me to assess the students strengths, areas for growth, and level.

I have worked with students of all ages and levels, including children as young as 3, and adult beginner students. Some of my young students have gone on to win national and international competitions. I was one of the founding teachers for a program called Pianos Without Borders, which provides remote, online piano lessons to middle-school age students in need. A part of my job which I love is the opportunity to meet interesting people from different backgrounds, and I look forward to teaching any student who is enthusiastic about learning the piano.

Always schedule a trial lesson before making a commitment to make sure you find a teacher who is the best fit for you!

As a board member of the KU MTNA Collegiate Chapter, I organized a series of benefit concerts for local nonprofit organizations in Lawrence, Kansas. I've also enjoyed being a part of recitals and concerts for patients at NewYork-Presbyterian and Johns Hopkins Hospitals.

Isabel is the best piano teacher we could have chosen for our daughter who started her first piano lesson with her at age 4 and has progressed very well.
She is extremely patient, caring, and great experience with fun teaching styles designed to engage young children . Our daughter has been able to focus through every lesson and made great progress in a relatively short space of time.
We would highly recommend Isabel as a great piano teacher and providing a good musical foundation and are very happy with our experience.

I have had some experience with the piano when I was a kid and decided to pick it up again as an adult. Isabel is incredibly encouraging and supportive. She is great at giving concrete advice on how to practice more effectively. She is deeply passionate about music and will work with you on the repertoire that you are interested in while still keeping on focus on the right techniques. We have had great fun in exploring different types of music other than just classical western music. Highly recommend her if you are an adult beginner who wants to find your passion for music again!
