About Tyler

I teach piano lessons for beginner and intermediate musicians looking to build up the fundamentals and learn music from J.S. Bach to Elton John.

I teach the fundamentals of reading music and encorporate music theory into every piece we learn together.

I have been playing piano for about 7 years now. I was self taught for 4 years and then I began a degree in Music Performance. I am finishing up this degree and then moving on to a degree in Music Theory and Composition.

I have performed on stage solo classical piano music such as Tchaikovsky, J.S. Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Schumann. As well as performing Jazz solo and duets. I also play percussion in an orchestra.

The most rewarding thing is learning about something you love. Every time I teach I not only get the joy of teaching someone about something they love, but I also learn from it and adapt my teachings to better accommodate their needs as a musician.

I love music so much and showing people how to make beautiful music is one of my favorite things.

I am a Music Performance Major working towards a masters degree in music education.

About the lesson

I like to see where the students playing level is at by them performing a piece for me regardless of how easy or complex it is then go from there. I use scales and music theory to expand upon just piano playing so that the student becomes a better musician.

I have worked with young students around age 10 to adults.

I suggest looking for someone who doesn't just teach you how to play the piano, look for someone who teaches you how to be a musician.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask what Genre of music you are trying to learn. Decide if you want to learn modern pop, Classical, jazz, or anything inbetween first!
