About Ozzy
I connect with my students on a personal level to understand what their needs and goals are. Then I breakdown what fundamentals they'll need and what method we can use (either improv or teaching book) to achieve those goals. The rest falls on the student to practice everyday, develop muscle memory and use the vocabulary during our lessons, in order to start talking music and creatinng music.
I enjoy seeing the happines my students that those "aha" moments bring. Its rewarding when a students can speak and communicate through music.
I started teaching group lessons at my church and years later i swithced to individual private lessons.
I started my musiccal training at the age of 9. I have played with ensembes, bands and as a soloist for the past 20 years. I earned my B.A. in Music Education from CSUDH in 2014 and have been teaching private lessons for 10 years.

I usually identify their playing abillity. Ask what their playing goals are. Then, work on building the necessary skills for their performances needs through methods books or popular repertoire.
i have worked with kids from age 5 to adults 50yrs+. i have played everything from Twinkle Little Star, Maroon 5 and Duke Ellington.
The advice I would share is be ready to dedicate at least six months to music lessons and preprae to develop a good practice habit. Its hard to see progress in a matter of weeks, but with a good dedication and passion you will feel comfrotable enough to play for friends and family.
Learning music is like learning to recite poetry. Its best when memorized and best when youre not slurring the words. So practice, practice, practice!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask teachers on their personal experiences with a musical style, or being a musician. Its a world they are soon going to be a part of so its best to get some insights from someone who has been in it.
