About Cali jo

Welcome to Lessons with Cali!

I believe music should be encouraging, engaging, and accessible to everyone. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop their skills, and most importantly, maintain a genuine love of music along the way.

I’ve been playing piano for nearly 18 years, singing for over 10 years, teaching piano and voice lessons for the past 5 years, and performing professionally at gigs and events for the last 4 years. I also studied Music Therapy in college, which helped shape my belief that every student learns differently and deserves an individualized approach to learning.

I primarily teach piano and voice lessons for children, but I welcome students of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re learning your first notes, preparing for a performance, returning to music after years away, or simply exploring a new hobby, lessons are tailored to your unique goals, interests, and learning style.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all lesson plan, and I never expect perfection. Music should be a place where students feel comfortable trying new things, making mistakes, growing at their own pace, and celebrating progress along the way. Every student’s musical journey looks a little different, and that’s exactly how it should be.

As both a musician and Children’s Ministry Coordinator, I have extensive experience working with children and creating positive, supportive learning environments. While I specialize in teaching children, I’m equally happy to work with teens and adults who are looking to grow their musical skills.

Lessons are available throughout Ozaukee County. Most in-person lessons take place at a church in Grafton, though I also offer online lessons and may be able to travel to students depending on location and scheduling availability.

Whether your goal is to learn your favorite songs, strengthen your technique, build confidence in your voice, or simply enjoy making music, I’d love to help you get there.

Piano lessons offered by Cali jo are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Port Washington. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
