About Glen

Hello! Glad you’re taking the time to consider music lessons. As a teacher with 30 years playing and 17 years teaching all ages full-time, I can say that I get much joy from weekly lessons, as well as watching students improve, grow, and most importantly, have fun. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, as well as an active and extensive performing career in the United States and in Europe. I also teach beginner and intermediate guitar, as well as theory and songwriting. I'd be thrilled to share my insight with you as we begin our musical journey! I am Covid-safe, so I teach in a mask, observe social distancing, and sanitize instruments. I also offer remote lessons, which can be great for taking lessons from anywhere in the world. What is included: - An environment where students can develop productive and inspiring practice habits. - Ongoing musical demonstrations and the dedication to help you attain whichever level you desire to achieve. - A free trial lesson. There are opportunities to play at bi-annual recitals, music festivals, and so much more. Hope to hear from you!

I've been playing for 30 years, including a Bachelor's in Music from the Manhattan School of Music. I've continued studies since I graduated in 2011 and continue to perform actively, both in-person and remotely.

About the lesson

The most important thing is to have fun. I let the student choose their pieces from a large selection of pieces. I believe we are natural learners, whether we are 5, 55, or 555, so we can pick pieces which will seem interesting to us. If something seems interesting to us, we will probably get value out of it, especially upon learning the piece well. As we complete more pieces, we become more advanced, and I enjoy watching the result.

I also include theory, sight-reading, and composition, as we try to learn different facets of music.

Glen has taught my son to read the music so much more carefully, and to bring a real musicality to his playing. My son loves working with him!
