About Jesse

I had a really hard time learning the piano and did not like playing for a really long time. Finally, a few things clicked and I began to love it. Practicing became enjoyable, and performing was something I looked forward to. I understand many of the struggles pianists encounter in attempting to master this beautiful instrument. Because I've had those challenges I can help others through them as well!

I will help students achieve their goals by setting short term goals with them and providing the knowledge and resources necessary to achieve those goals. I will help them set up a plan that will help them succeed if they are willing to work hard!

I have taught piano since I was 15 years old (now 21). I am now at BYU as a piano performance major in my junior year.

I love seeing people develop a love for the piano and music in general. There's nothing better than to see an individual work on accomplishing a goal and succeeding!

I grew up playing the piano and decided that I wanted to make a career out of it when I was 13. I started teaching some friends of mine when I was 16 years old and have been expanding my studio since then.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Brigham Young University.

About the lesson

I try to understand where the student is at, how they learn, and what they are interested in. Every student learns differently and I adjust my approach accordingly.

I have worked with students ages 5-70. Some of my students have learning disabilities and ADHD. I love working with these students and adjusting my approach for them.

Look for a teacher that will help you accomplish the goals you have for yourself. Everyone has different motivations for playing the piano so find a teacher that will understand and help you in the way you want.

I recently presented a Benefit Recital to raise money for lymphoma research. I performed works by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Liszt, Greig, Mussorgsky, and Galuppi. My brother performed a narration for each piece. Together we raised over $500. It was an amazing experience!
