About Valorie

Hammonds Music Lesson is now accepting students in the New Year! I teach students from K- Adult and have taught over 100 students. I teach from my home in a fun classroom environment. Afternoon lessons are $20, payment is due at the beginning of each month. Students will be expected to own a piano/keyboard and time to devote to practice. After our first meet up, I will be able to assess what level the student can begin. It’s that easy... Let’s learn to play music together!

I found a love for teaching when I was 18 years old. I have not quit , it has been the greatest blessing in my life. I love meeting new families and the joy it gives me is unmatched.

I have taught for over 12 years and went to Randolph Macon College for Music.

About the lesson

At our first orientation, I will assess the student's ability to play and start you up on a curiculum for practice. Once you have purchased the required material, we will begin learning! I kind ask that each student bring their own favorite notebook used strictly for lessons. In this notebook, I will write what we have learned and what the student should practice.

You will also be a part of my mailing list where I send out new challenge songs and showcase exceptional students!

I have worked with students from kindergarten to adult. I have taught homeschool, public school, and private school kids.

If you are searching for a teacher for your student, I recommend going with a professional who has taught for many years. I also would recommend that they have a music teaching bacground. It is one thing to play music but it is a very different thing to be able to articulate it properly and help a fresh musician understand the language of music.
