About Hanna
Hanna Kogan Conservatory of Music was founded in 1991 by world renowned music educator and Judge Hanna Kogan. With over 45 years of experience teaching piano and judging, she has become a favorite amongst children and adults alike wishing to study piano. Ms. Kogan is a member of 5 music teachers' associations and has been recognized for her dedication and passion to teaching by Steinway, receiving the Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2017 and 2018.
Many of the alumni of Hanna Kogan Conservatory of Music have gone on to spread the joy of music that Ms. Kogan helped instill in them. You will find her former students composing Hollywood soundtracks, performing in orchestras worldwide, and teaching music to their own students.
Music lessons go beyond just learning how to play an instrument. Along with their advancing musical abilities, I enjoy watching the development of my students' lives in other areas as a result of their music classes. Studies have shown that music stimulates the brain and promotes emotional, mental, physical and social health by reducing anxiety and stress, improving memory and cognition, and developing fine motor skills. Nothing gives me more joy than seeing the effect that my classes have on my students' work, health, and everyday lives.
I began learning piano when I was nine years old and graduated from a conservatory of music in Russia where I studied piano performance, music composition, and conducting. I have a double masters in music and psychology from a Russian university.
