About Amanda

I have been an art educator for over 6 years and I love being able to share my passion for art with others! I am knowledgable in mulitple mediums to help you learn and grow as an artist. My true passion for art lies in ceramics, but I also personally create with drawing, printmaking, eco-printing, cyanotypes, and painting. As an educator, I strive to learn as much as possible in the arts so then I can share it with my students.

I have experience teaching todlers to adults in a public school, museum, and private setting. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out!

It is hard to have a bad day at work when your hands are always in art! Being able to create on a daily basis is such a wonderful thing - that joy increases when I am able to share it with others!

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from High Point University. I taught middle school art for two years, elementary art for three years, and I currently work at a museum of art as the educator. I constantly strive to learn new mediums, so I take classes and workshops at least 4 times a year to learn something new.

About the lesson

For new students, I find it is beneficial to find out about your wants and needs in regards to learning art. From there, we can decide a location to create - my home is open (but dogs and cats are present), your home (preferable for my students still in school, parents are present), or a neutral location like Panera or the library. From there, we work out a schedule and we work together to grow as artists!

Details

My current pricing is $50/hour. I am flexible in the rate depending on frequency of our lessons and if there is more than one student. If you are providing your own supplies, this will lower the cost as well.
