About Melissa
I have been certified in Wilson Language level 1 and 2 since 2006 and have been using the program with small groups and 1:1 eversince. I have a tremendous amount of experience and know the program works! Not all students learn the same way and I will know fairly quickly if this program is the right fit for you or your child. I have been tutoring Wilson virtually for the past two years and my students have been very successful.
I love getting to know my students and making a connection. If we have a good relationship the learning experience is more fun. I love watching my students grow and become better readers, it is very rewarding.

When I first meet a student I will spend a few minutes asking them questions about who they are, what they like and their goals for the future. I will ask them a few questions about reading and what they believe their strengths and weaknesses are. Depending on their needs I will give an informal assessment to determine where we will begin our lessons.
