About Daniel

Along with my degree in the language I have also traveled multiple times to Russia and Ukraine.

I can offer not only grammatical and vocabulary assistance, but also knowledge about the culture and history.

I offer one on one tutoring either in person or online.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge about Russian and Ukraine.

It is a rewarding experience to help a person learn something new. The harder the subject matter, the more rewarding it is, and Russian is not an easy subject to learn.

I started being a peer turtor when I was still taking Russian classes at the University of Missouri as an undergraduate student. I found it to be a rewarding experience, and I have been tutoring interested students since.

I have my Bachelors Degree in the Russian Language and Russian History.

About the lesson

IF the student is already enrolled into a class, I review the materials students are working with and identify their weak areas. In the event that someone wants to learn outside of taking a class, I have my own textbook and workbook to use. I also use the online textbook "Mezhdu nami" as a guide. I do not require students to purchase any materials for my classes

When we have identified an area that needs worked on (grammar, vocabulary, speach practice, etc), I have several activities developed to improve that area.

I have worked with undergraduate first and second year students.

Remember that there is no magic bullet for tutors. Even with the best tutor, there is no substitute for personal studying.

I enjoy making "Russian dinner" parties. Basically I invite interested people over to talk in Russian, about Russia, and cook and eat foods from Russia. My most recent event involved getting serveral students together to make Borsht (beet soup). I was in Moscow at this time and it turned into a great meet and greet event for the students to get to know some of the Russian students near us.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about your goals for the class. Are you actually trying to become fluent in the language? Are you taking a class to just satisfy your requirments for your degree?

For beginner part 1 classes I charge $20 per hour.

For beginner part 2 classes I charge $25 per hour.
