Hello,

I am currently pursuing a PhD in immunology at Queen Mary and Brunel University. I have an excellent academic record, having earned an MRes in Biomedical Research from Imperial College London and achieving a First Class Honours in BSc Biomedical Sciences from Brunel University London.

I am not only committed to science but also extremely enthusiastic about sharing my passion with young learners.

My Teaching Experience:
My passion for teaching extends to students of all ages. I have a diverse teaching background, working with primary school, A-level, and university-level students. My experience includes tutoring for the Brilliant Club and working as a laboratory teaching assistant for undergraduate students. Currently, I volunteer as a Workshop Facilitator with Climate Ed, where I engage primary school children in interactive and enjoyable sessions to educate them about climate change.

Academic Mentorship:
Aside from teaching, I bring valuable experience as an academic mentor. I regularly contribute to Brunel University's Career Fairs, where I offer guidance on personal statements and share my insights and advice on pursuing postgraduate studies after completing a science-related degree. I mentor newly enrolled PhD students. I have previously provided support to new undergraduate students, especially those making the transition from BTEC/A-levels to university life. I assisted them in adapting to university culture, offered resources, and provided guidance for their biomedical sciences programs.

My approach to teaching is flexible and tailored to address the unique needs of each student. The content and structure of our sessions will vary to meet their specific requirements and academic level, whether they are in primary school (including SATs preparation), secondary school (covering GCSEs), or at the A-level stage.

Establishing Expectations and Goals:
Our initial free session, lasting approximately 15–30 minutes, will set the foundation of our tutoring journey. During this session, we will work together to set clear expectations, establish ground rules, and define the goals that we aim to achieve.

Monitoring Progress and Building Confidence:
Throughout our lessons, I will closely monitor your progress and achievements using engaging activities and targeted practice exam questions relevant to your level of study. We will build upon previously learned concepts, ensuring a continuous review of the material. This unique approach empowers you to develop confidence in your learning before advancing to new topics. Our lesson pace will be guided by the student’s growth, as I prioritize mastering difficult concepts before moving forward to a new topic. As an added benefit, I will provide helpful revision techniques and time-management strategies - these skills are key to taking control of your learning, an essential aspect of long-term academic success.

For those preparing for university applications, I offer guidance in crafting a compelling personal statement. I have mentorship experience with new undergraduate and postgraduate students.
