About Teejay

Teejay BJJ is a Veteran Owned and operated business. I have 18 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I have trained all over the world. I have been teaching since 2012 and I love helping people reach their goals. If you want to learn self defense, exercise, or maybe even fight professionally my goal is to help you make that happen.

I learned to teach as a trainer in the Air Force. I began teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) when I was deployed in Afghanistan back in 2011.

I spent the last 20 years of my life serving in the worlds greatest air power, the US Air Force. After a very rewarding career I chose to apply those values in descipline in the martial arts I have come to love. I currently hold a rank of Black Belt in BJJ. I am close to completing a certification as a personal trainer and I am currently expanding my area of expertise into other martial arts like Judo, Sambo, and kick boxing.

About the lesson

I try to help my students feel comfortable. I understand that people will choose to learn self defense for a variety of reasons. No matter the motivation, I want my students to understand the choice to learn martial arts is a step toward self empowerment and self improvement.

I have worked with Kids, elderly folk, moms, dads, beginners and experts, pro athletes, amateur and pro fighters. I have also worked with people who are in great shape and those who aren't very healthy. I have learned to adapt to most situations and I can teach anyone willing to learn.

I encourage anyone looking to get training (with or without me) to weigh all options. You want to make sure the person training you is a good fit and that they have your best interest at heart.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have a goal in mind. A good goal is SMART. Specific-Measurable-attainable-realistic-time based.
After that, you can ask specific questions about your goals and how you might achieve them
