About Mercedes
In my academy we offer programs for Sewing and Construction, Patternmaking, Introduction to Fashion Design and Crochet.
All programs are tailored to students needs and interest. Classes are in groups but with personal attention. Every student work on their own project.
Students enjoy the class a lot. They manifest the joy of learning what they love.
Sewing has being always my passion and favorite hobby. I have more than 50 years of sewing experience and as an educator. I was a teacher many years ago and I apply all the teaching techniques to assure the students to learn properly.
We offer Certificate of Training when the program is complete. we also have a continuing education. Once the student finish all the programs we offer help when they need it in the sewing path or career.
We have a flexible schedule to accomodate every student according to their needs. We also have classes on Saturdays
We accepts students 9 years old and up. Children classes are only for children.
Sewing and Teaching are my passions. That is the reason I put both together to give the best of me to people eager to learn and get into the marvelous world of fashion and is my intention to say "Welcome to La Favorita Modern Fashion Academy" where your dream of learning what you love becomes a reality.
I learned how to sew when I was 13 years old and I've being taking classes and courses all my life to improve my sewing and crocheting skills. I'm certified by Miami Dade Community College in Patternmaking and Fashion Design.
