About Lindsey

I have a BFA in fine art (painting,drawing, sculpture) photography, digital etc). But I also have training and a masters in fashion design (pattern making, sewing draping etc).

I write and develope my own educational programs as a college professor and to underserved youth in Cincinnati.

I am happy to teach anyone about the creative process, how to fabricate any garment or hat, how to make your own fabric print, or anything in the fine arts realm.

I have taught most of my life. What I teach and where I teach has evolved over my years and experience.

I got a BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 2007. I taught English in Gifu, Japan in 2009. I got my MDES from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2012- 2014, studying under "Soundsuit Artist" Nick Cave. I was the "Master Crafter" at Kiki Magazine from 2012-2015. Velcro Brand sponsored my work twice in 2014. In 2016, I was the art director for "Lighting Fires" music video directed by Yellowhaus and lead a team that co-designed/ fabricated 10 light-up costumes for the Cincinnati Orchestra's Lumenocity Festival. Presently, I co-run art experiences at PIQUE art gallery and bed and breakfast. I also lead and create programs in sewing and performance art as an adjunct in Cincinnati and sewing to underserved youth through the LILYMI Foundation. I am a fashion/performance artist that makes colorful, transformable objects as a starting point to collaborate with others. A single piece of my work can function as an installation, 2-D, 3-D or on a body etc.

I try to see how much skill they already have and devolpe a class plan that works for them.

Details

I do $20/hr. If someone wants me to do a class with a few students in it. I do $12 per student per 1.5 hr class. I am willing to discuss pricing options.
