About Anya

I am a professional singer with a passion of sharing music with the world. I have 10+ years of professional vocal and performance training. The past four years I have been a student at New York University majoring in Vocal Performance with a concentration in classical voice. During my time there, I took courses about vocal pedagody where I learned about vocal anatomy, health, and teaching fundamentals. I was also able to have various performance opportunities, worked on various genres of music, and was intertwined with the musical theatre department.

I provide personalized private voice lessons which cater to each student's individual needs, goals, and interests. I strongly believe in teaching how to sing with a healthy technique in an exciting and comfortable environment.

I travel between New York City and Northern New Jersey and am open to teaching lessons in either area.

I plan my lessons to accomodate the student's individual needs and am focused on teaching in a way where the student completely understands what they are doing. Lessons are personal and I want my students to feel comfortable and excited to work on their instrument. I am fluent in diction for English, French, Italian, German, and Ukrainian and have instruction experience in teaching lessons. Performing has always been the love of my life and I want to share that passion with my students as well!

I decided to take a course on vocal pedagogy at school where I learned how to teach vocal fundamentals and lessons and was able to give trial lessons. From there I really enjoyed being able to work and develop a singer's instrument and technique. I found that I learn so much about the voice and music when I am teaching someone. I enjoy sharing my passion whether that is on stage or in a personal setting with a fellow student.

I have a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance: Classical Voice and New York University. I have been studying performing arts for 10+ years. I constantly observe other teachers and master classes to further develop my knowledge.

About the lesson

I start all students with a trial lesson where we will mainly focus on vocal excersizes to ensure we are a good fit and to assess the student's prior knowledge and how I can best accomodate them.

I work with various types of genres - classical, musical theater, pop, jazz, rock, and folk. A basic classical technique can help you sing any type of music.
