About Roland

Basketball Coach

. As a skilled and more than 20 years of experience teaching, organizing games, and coaching, I am confident of my ability to make a significant contribution to your school.

My philosophy of education is based on my Christian beliefs. I believe God has given each student a purpose in life. It is the teacher's duty to help each student find that and create an environment where they can grow closer to the Creator and help facilitate their growth toward the plans God has for them. I have taught Bible (6th - 12th grade) Health and Physical education as well as coaching. Therefore, I strive to focus on students finding their full potential physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. I believe that our bodies are a Temple of the Holy Spirit. I always do my best to provide an environment where students feel comfortable to share their own ideas and never be afraid of giving their best. I strive to make my bible classes very interactive. I take Ephesians 4:16-18 to heart and being a follower of Christ requires a lifestyle that reflects that. There is a process of growth that leads us to mature in our character that will become more and more like Christ as we grow, I believe in incorporating the newest information, methods, and technology if it falls within the Christian worldview. I currently have on a Master's. of Christian Ministry.

Teaching bible at 4 different international schools. I was a deacon at my church here my local church here. I taught an English Sabbath School lesson and preached in Chinese as well.

My background and passion for sports stem from the desire to help young both physically and spiritually. Teaching Physical Education, Health, and Coaching, and being Athletic Director has helped me to significantly spread the gospel in Taiwan. My approach to teaching education is to help students develop the skills and desire to find a sport or exercise that they will continue for a lifetime. I like to allow them to engage in a wide spectrum of both team sports and individual exercise activities. I strive to help them find that exercise that fits their individual needs and passions. I also commonly engage with the students in exercise. I find students will open and speak about spiritual matters more there.
