About Leslie

I love teaching! Especially if it's something that I love like my native language (Spanish) and also English which is my second language. I also know some French and I'm in the process of learning Greek. Languages are my passion.

I have been teaching English for around 10 years, I taught in different private institutions, 5 years in public schools in my country (Colombia) and I also taught English in a university for 3 years.

I came to the U.S in 2019, sponsored by a program called Participate Learning who hires international teachers to teach their native language to students here, so in the first 2 years I taught Spanish in a Middle School. After that I taught only private Spanish lessons for 2 years, and then started working in a High School as an ESOL teacher until now, 2026.

Those experiences plus my degree and Master in teaching languages make me a very good option for you, no matter your age, I'm here to adapt my lessons to your preferences and make of each class a great experience for both of us😊

I'm very passionate about teaching, I like to focus on what my students want and need. I like to show them that learning a language is not as difficult as they may think. I also like to make them feel confident and learn in a meaningful way :)

As a personal experience, I would like to share that I have a four year old who is already speaking 3 languages fluently. English, Spanish, and Greek. This was possible thanks to my experience as a languages teacher.

I have a degree in teaching languages and a Master degree in Teaching Spanish.

About the lesson

Lessons are organized and she meets you where you're at. She'll let you stay on something if you need more time. Lots of opportunities to practice conversations and go over grammar.

Leslie is an amazing teacher who truly cares about her students! Unlike many online language tutors whose only credential is ´native speaker’ Leslie is a true instructor with classroom experience. She makes her lessons fun and engaging. She is always positive and never condescending. I am so happy I found Leslie to help me along my journey to learn Spanish. ¡Ella es una profesora fantástica!

Her fluency in English and expertise in her approach to teaching Spanish which makes it very easy and quick to grasp the conjugations of the Spanish verbs for an example. Making us speak during the class and interacting with the other students help us in the learning process in addition to the just the right amount of homework.
As a speaker of several (English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, Taiwanese and basic conversational understanding of Cantonese and French) languages, I know when someone like Leslie is qualified to teach a language or not. She definitely has the chops.
I highly recommend anyone who is ready to take the next step to learn Spanish.
Kudos Leslie!!!
