About Rosalee

Tutoring Spanish is a way I can contribute to our community. It is a fun language to learn and use! Because I became bilingual gradually (since the third grade) I am prepared to see where it is that could be tricky for the learner. I offer conversational Spanish as well as readng and writing. I can teach beginners all the way through to adults who want to improve their Spanish. I am prepared to tutor middle and high school students.

I enjoy seeing students’ progress in their ability to use and understand Spanish. Teaching was my career; tutoring is my way of continuing my passion and to give back. I was a bilingual teacher for many years. I am well-prepared to assist those working in education looking to better serve in their jobs. Homeschool situations are another of my specialties.

I began with teaching preschool. This confirmed my ability to teach, so I went on to receive my BS in elementary education. I later tutored when I stayed home with my young child. I taught K-8 as a bilingual classroom teacher, ESL teacher, and reading specialist.

I studied Spanish from the third grade through high school and into community college. I was a bilingual elementary teacher for many years; as an ESL teacher, I have continued to work with Spanish-speaking families. I have a Master's degree in education from NAU.

About the lesson

I asses their goals and current knowledge. Then, I gather and use various materials and methods to utilize in sessions. I use a goal (or goals) In each tutoring session to guide our learning. I model, use guided practice, and see how the learner is progressing in the use of the learning goal.
