About Sarah
My role is to set high expectations for all students ever being mindful of where students are, both cognitively as well as in terms of their life experiences. To this end, I employ an assets-based approach in which students’ strengths and backgrounds are valued, and they are appropriately challenged.
I believe in the power of language to create relationships, to connect people across cultures, and to open lines of communication to the end of creating a more just world. Learning another language and developing the ability to respectfully engage with those who are different from us affords us the precious gift of seeing the world through another lens. Ultimately, we are empowered to shape our communities, both local and global, and to collectively build solutions that move us forward in developing our humanity.
