About Sergi

Level 1 UEFA Soccer Coaching License; Avid soccer player and passion for mentoring and developing youth players; International experience living in South Korea, Spain, England, Australia, and the United States.

What I enjoy the most about teaching is to be able to not onlt teach new concepts and allow my students to be able to develop, but also to make a positive impact in their lives. In fact, some of the most important and relevant people I have met during my life have been my teachers and coaches.

My passion for teaching began at a very early age. My mother and my older sister have more than 30 years of teaching experience combined, I believe that their love for their job motivated me to want to share the knowledge I have.

Bachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Virginia.

Master's Degree from Duke University

Former student-athlete and member of UVA's & Duke's Men's Varsity Soccer Team.

More than 5 years of experience in Tutoring Spanish & Coaching Soccer.

About the lesson

In my opinion, the most important aspect of the entire process is building a rapport. At this point in time, students have potentially struggled with various topics, so the importance of instilling confidence in them before any tutoring begins is essential to their success. Nevertheless, prior to scheduling sessions, I like to meet with the student and/or parent(s). We work hand in hand to build their specialized plan of action. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results. This plan depends on the immediate needs of the student, but many plans include some sort of accommodation to pre and post-session communication in order to track progress.

I have been fortunately to have worked with many different people from diversed backgrounds and personalities. I am open minded and I am willing to help no matter the type of student.

My advice would be to make sure that you build a great relationship with the professor and you get to know them before starting to have classes together. I believe that communication is the key to make things work.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your weaknesses and what are your strenghts? Are you willing to have fun while learning new concepts?

The pricing will never be a problem. However, I value the hardwork that I have putted in and all the years of experience. I believe that by communicating and knowing the needs of the student and its family, an agreement is easy to be reached.
