About Kira

As a tutor, I bring fun and education to a more satisfying level. I’m high spirited and and enlightening but I also take my service serious. I’ve been working as a community youth director in Detroit, MI at the age of 16 up until I was 18 after graduating high school. I’ve also mentored students in Elementary and middle schools from the ages 16-18 as well. I’d teach children different activities and organize community cleanups while being after school tutor.

I enjoy spending time with the children I work with. I’m happy they can come to me for guidance and communication. I enjoy the activities I planned for them and to my students smile brings me complete joy.

I’ve started off as a community youth director and community organizer at the age of 16 in Detroit, Michigan. After working with children outside of my school studies, I volunteered as a tutor within school setting starting with elementary students. Then, I moved onto middle school students shadowing as a teaching assistant after I graduated high school. Although I have other passions as well, I still enjoy working with students.

Well I don’t have a degree in teaching, but I am trained in CPR and bloodbourne pathogens, teaching assistance and tutoring for 4 years, and child care for 6 years.

About the lesson

First, I always start with a nice introduction. (Hello there, my name is Kira Rush, but you can call me Ms. Rush and I will be your new instructor. How are you today?)

Then, I introduce them to the class if i have a group of students. Or if I’m doing one on one lessons skip ahead to the rules and regulations of class and tell them about what they will be learning.

If they have trouble understanding a lesson, I’d be more than happy to provide them with all the help that they need.

I mostly work with elementary and middle school students, including special education students.

My advice to students is to choose a teacher who they’d be most comfortable with. I know school can be demanding and boring, but try finding a teacher with the right enthusiasm and skill set that fits your needs.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should think about what kind of educational guidance they would need as far as getting the right help with specific lessons or schoolwork without paying too much money for unnecessary lessons or lectures wasting money and time. Ask yourself; How much help do I really need? What assignments or subjects do I need help on specifically?

Its you only need help with one or two things, you should talk to your teacher or tutor about just those things and try not to get sidetracked into doing what you don’t need to do.
