About Alexander

When I was in high school, I believed I was not a proficient writer, as I had never been challenged to be. I was pleasantly surprised, however, when I consistently received high grades on my writing assignments once I started college. Since beginning college, I have earned an A in intro to college writing, writing 1 with support, writing 2, and communications foundations. Thus, I have worked on numerous assignments designed to evaluate a student's writing ability. These assignments include informative, persuasive, and research essays. I have worked on group projects and speeches too. Recently, I have come to write discussion posts, due to my classes being online. All of this has been refined over the past two years I've attended college.

I enjoy taking an idea and expanding upon it. For example, a requirement for my foundations of environmental science class was to write a laboratory report. Although writing difficulty is subjective, the lab report was my most difficult writing task thus far, yet it was the most satisfying. I also enjoy how universal writing is while maintaining independence. There is a general template to every good paper (i.e. introduction, page length) but the writer decides how to convey his or her message to their audience.

I'm actually looking to get started here as a part-time summer job in between classes.

Earning an A in the following classes; intro to college writing, writing 1 with support, writing 2, and communication foundations.

About the lesson

Even if COVID wasn't in the way of recent events, my favorite one would be the Youngstown State University Legacy Forest. To combat global climate change, professors at YSU have started an initiative to plant one tree for each incoming freshmen student, averaging 2000 trees per year. I was fortunate enough to be taking foundations of environmental science at the time of the inaugural planting, so I was able to plant trees to help the planet (and ourselves).
