About Corrine
We provide one on one private swimming lessons in the comfort of a child's backyard pool with a specialist early childhood swimming instructor.
12 months - 23 months: 30 minute lessons. Toddlers are introduced to the water. The main focus at this age is helping a child feel comfortable in the water, submerge, float, beginning skills, and also begin to learn how to save self in the event the little one ever accidentally falls into the pool.
24 months - 36 months: focus on water safety, proper swimming techniques, jumping into pool, climbing out unassisted, swimming above water and underwater skills
3 years - 4 years: focus on water safety skills, expanding swimming techniques and styles, and proper use of pool boards and floats. Children will also learn what to do if they see a fellow child accidentally fall in the pool. One of the graduation skills from lessons includes a scenario where the child jumps into the pool with their clothes on and successfully pulls themselves out so they can feel the difference between being in the water with swimwear vs clothes, so in the event if ever happens, they won't panic with the extra weight and know exactly how to move with it to safety :)

I believe every child is different and learns at their own unique pace and in their own unique way. I learn quickly how to best teach each individual child by getting to know them and any current skills they may already have aquired. I may sing songs, say silly memorable rhymes or play games for example as ways to help a child learn, expand, and conquer swimming skills.
