Hello fellow students!

I hope I have the opportunity to be your tutor.

I have been tutoring for 11 years and substitute teaching for 2 years. Throughout this time, I have worked with students aged 6-18 years old on a wide variety of subject matters.

I am confident I can help you achieve any learning and educational goals you might have and look forward to watching you succeed!

About the lesson

I'm able to tutor grades 1-12.

I typically start tutoring sessions by seeing how much those I'm tutoring already know. I also ensure I understand their goals from the beginning (ex. are they failing a subject, having trouble with a specific concept et cetera).

I then like to see them work on an assignment or answer some questions unaided to see where they are going wrong. I will ask them to explain their work after an ask some questions to get them thinking.

Depending on the subject matter and the age of the student, I will then either work through some questions with them, doing knowledge checks along the way. Or I will tell them the correct answer and see if they can figure out how I got to it.

In most subject areas, each new skill or concept builds upon the previous one so I will not progress until the student is ready.

I will then end with a lesson review and provide homework.
