About Isaac
Currently a Junior at UCSD -- Prior to the virus, I played regularly on the club competitive team, and I coached on campus as an on-site coaching staff.
In high school, I was the varsity captain for all 4 years of high school, and in lieu of our absent coach frequently coached all members of the team, whether it be the proper fundamentals to more advanced techniques (mental toughness, competitve strategy, stamina management, advanced footwork and balance, etc.)
I love teaching tennis! It is a sport I have always loved, and if not for an accident that threw out my shoulder, I would still be playing competitively, looking to make that a career!
I thouroughly enjoy working together with my students to specifically discuss and address weaknesses and strengths that are looking to be built. I emphasize most of my training methods on the fundamentals, simply because of the fact that no great skill can come forth without a foundation sturdy enough to handle it! To add, when players get tired during long matches/rallies, it is this very foundation that will keep you in the point in good form, allowing you to play more efficiently, effectively, and preventing injuries -- and it will happen naturally!
As mentioned previously, I was the varsity captain all four years throughout high school (I was also the founder of the team) and in our third and fourth years we made the team CIA playoffs and I myself entered the individual playoffs my junior and senior year (I got injured my freshmen year of high school, but through some general rehab I was able to return to a condition good enough to make the playoffs.)
I was the founder and captain of the varsity tennis team as for 4 years, and coached all the players frequently, as our coach coached multiple sports and was often absent. In addition to this, I taught at the local park 3 times a week, varying in all skill levels, from young children practicing the basics (and there to have fun!) to older, competitve players looking to sharpen their individual weapons.
In college, I was part of the club competitive team and coached separately on campus as an on-site training staff, which essentially meant coaching all levels, though most of my students were older (late 20's and up) or children.
I also thoroughouly enjoy analyzing match play, studying anatomy (so as to devise good exercises for students), and learning always about new efficient ways to teach technique to all students.

First off, we would need to discuss the goals of the training! Whether it be working on the fundamentals or advanced match play strategy, the student and I will talk out some of the intended goals, and the training thereforth will be tailored to achieving that goal!
After this is determined, I will gauge the student's skill level, and analyze any weaknesses/faulty techniques that might need improvement and work on those as well. The start and end of each lesson will always include stretches, warm-ups, and after the first couple meetings, those exercises will shift in order to tailor the needs of the student and their specific training regimen!

Details
For all students, the first lesson starts at 25/hour.
After that, I charge 60/hour for adults, 45/hour for children.
