About Cassandra
I am an experienced academic tutor with a strong foundation in biomedical engineering and a background in teaching at the University of Technology Sydney. My academic training has equipped me with advanced analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills, which I translate into clear, structured lessons tailored to each student’s needs. Having worked within a university environment, I understand the standards required for high academic achievement and bring that level of rigor and professionalism into my tutoring. I focus on building both confidence and competence, helping students develop strong writing skills, deeper text analysis, and effective study habits. My approach is supportive, engaging, and results-driven, making me well-suited to guide high school students toward academic success and exam readiness.

This lesson plan provides a structured and adaptable framework for tutoring high school English students from Years 5 to 12, ensuring that lessons are both targeted and progressive. It incorporates a clear sequence beginning with a warm-up to activate prior knowledge, followed by explicit teaching of key concepts, guided practice to scaffold understanding, independent tasks to reinforce skills, and concluding with feedback and reflection. The plan is designed to accommodate varying ability levels through differentiation strategies, while also aligning with curriculum expectations across junior and senior years. By focusing on core competencies such as reading comprehension, analytical writing, and critical thinking, the lesson promotes both skill development and confidence, ultimately preparing students for academic assessments and exam conditions.
