About Trinity

I have been making music since I first touched an instrument when I was younger. My goal is to nourish creativity while also putting emphasis on music theory and proper technique. I have a musical mind and I wish to bring out the best musician in everyone I work with. While the French horn was my first instrument, I later taught myself trumpet, becoming the section leader in the jazz band and a member of the jazz combo at my performing arts high school. Since then I have learned and become proficient in several different instruments and styles of music. I am a happy person and music is my joy.

I am a very patient person who understands that people all learn at a different pace. I've had success in developing the skills and understanding of music theory in kids and even my peers!

In high school I had many parents of students contact me for lessons. I really enjoyed helping musicians grow and watching them excel in this art. I continued private lessons on and off throughout my adult years in Los Angeles.

I was section leader of the French horns in full orchestra, and the trumpets in jazz band at my performing arts high school. I have been playing both instruments since 2005. I went to many festivals all over California with groups receiving "superior" or "unanimously superior" ratings. I have been a part of formal groups, but also a part of jazz ensembles that required more independence and deeper understanding of the music that was being played.

About the lesson

First thing I do is asses their skill level. I will ask them to play something for me and look at their technique and look for ways to grow. I will ask them what type of music they listen to and what type of music they would like to play. I will keep these answers in mind in order to aim my teaching directly at their goals and interests. I will go over fundamentals like breathing, posture, and embouchure. From there we will go into music theory and other aspects of the art.

I have worked with middle schoolers, high schoolers, and even full grown adults. It is never a bad time to learn to play!

You need someone who is structured, patient, and who will listen to you. You need someone who is genuinely interested in seeing you grow.
