About Kip

What you get - over 15 years teaching experience, top-level performance expertise, and a better relationship with yourself through your instrument.

Helping musicians reach people, including themselves, through music.

When people recognized my talent and patience, I began being approached by several people to teach. I loved it, as I deeply enjoy sharing what I have learned through my many years of studying music.

I have performed with Yo-Yo Ma and the Chicago, St. Louis, and New World Symphonies. I hold a Bachelor's in music and Performer's Certificate from th Florida State University studying under Dr. Pamela Ryan. I have worked privately with students from beginning to advanced. I study the Alexander Technique, a method I believe is incomparably hepful for posture and coordination. This method constantly helps me improve my own playing and I work through those concepts with students.

About the lesson

I begin by getting to know my new student, learning about their interests and why they love music. Then we talk about what they would like to accomplish, and work together to create a plan.

I have worked with students from beginning to very advanced, in English and Spanish.

Look for a teacher who respects the student, and who the student will respect. And enjoy working with - fit is key.
