About Cheyenne
I began teaching lessons while still in college, begining with private students and eventually including group classes. I'm passionate about connecting with students of all ages and levels, and it is my goal that every student feels encouraged and motivated to learn in a safe and inspiring environment.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from California State University, Northridge, and I've completed one year of my Master's Degree in Violin Performance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have played the violin for the past 17 years, and I have experience as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. I have taught violin lessons, both private and in group settings, for the past three years.

I believe each student should have a customized approach, and I like to set goals with them, whether that's learning a particular piece in a month, or by the end of the year, or if they want to focus on a specific genre, etc. However, I do like to use scale, etude, and repertoire books to build a strong foundation. Each lesson we review what we learned at the last meeting, and develop/work on new skills every week, depending on where the student is at.
I've worked with beginniners from the age of 8 years old to adults, as well as intermediate and more advanced violin students.
I believe it is crucial to connect with your teacher, and feel inspired, motivated, and encouraged. Music is a beautiful thing that can spread joy and light throughout one's life and it can be incredibly enriching, given the right teacher and environment.
