About Megan

I aspire to give my future students something to look forward to each day. I want music to be something that relieves them of their stress and makes my students happy.

I really enjoy being able to teach my students skills that I have learned in my own private lessons. Being able to witness their growth as a musician, and as a person, is something that brings me joy.

I graduated from The Catholic University of America in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Mathematics. For my music degree, I have taken private violin lessons for 8 semesters with Professor Cuffaro, who has trained me and has given me tips on teaching violin to future students. I was also part of the CUA Symphony Orchestra in which I sat beside outstanding musicians who have given fantastic insight on playing the violin. In high school, I had a number of leadership positions within the different Orchestras we had, in which I had experience leading a group as well as helping players one on one with specific passages.

About the lesson

My advice would be to find a teacher whose goals line up with yours. Finding someone with similar motives will help you connect better with your teacher. As a student taking private music lessons, it is highly beneficial to have a teacher that you feel comfortable with and don't feel nervous around.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to teachers about their needs, the main questions students should ask themselves is, "What am I getting stuck on?" and "What would I like to improve on?" If you can figure out where the problem is, your teacher will be able to give you more pointed advice.
